BABY VANGA ELECTRIC AIR

Coming together through a mutual appreciation of psychedelic jazz and latin funk, Baby Vanga started jamming together in late 2018. With a handful of tasteful and bizarre singles richening their bag, they release another, titled 'Electric Air' alongside an absurdly comic video. The track's use of 60's jazz-tinged organs and wah guitar nods to British artists like Syd Barrett and Ultimate Spinach, yet Baby Vanga's use of flute and bongos brings it into the world of Brazilian Tropicália. Baby Vanga explain: ‘Electric Air’ is a brief exploration into the endless journey of finding purpose within actions, yet being aware of the beauty in the actions themselves. Reflecting this is the insecure effect of the odd time enclosed by entwining genres, that's contrasted by lighthearted melodies and the overall optimism the song tries to illustrate. It was written and recorded at my home studio in South London, where various iterations of the song were probed, leading to the final version that’ll hopefully fill your ears with delight.” -Ellie Rose-Davies
